This week we welcome a new developer to the Moodle HQ team in Perth – Sam Hemelryk.

One of Sam’s first jobs is to make sure that every file in Moodle contains the GPL copyright statement at the top, plus a separate docblock, as described in Development:Coding style (MDL-19235).

It’s official: Moodle 1.9.5 and 1.8.9 are now available! A big thank you to everyone who has helped with development, testing, feedback, bug reporting, QA, documentation etc.

If you’re eagerly awaiting the release of Moodle 1.9.5 containing lots of gradebook improvements, you’ll be pleased to hear that it’s coming soon! Please see Tim‘s latest reply in the discussion Anticipated Moodle 1.9.5 Release Date for the most accurate forecast.

Thanks to everyone (especially Petr) who has helped by going through the list of Moodle 1.9.5 unresolved issues and reducing the number of issues from 221 to less than 30. Let’s keep going until we reach zero!

Another list we need to reduce to zero is the number of unmerged files. The list of unmerged files is generated automatically these days thanks to a clever trick from Eloy.
